Dig It 04:40 video
DIG IT There's an abscess of distain on the ghost who shares my name who's forever cursed to wander empty space Trapped inside an endless loop Feeding off the risk I choose With a million splinters but not one escape And I made peace with my truth As I grasp for absolute But everything I touch is bathed in gray You don’t have to be alone If you don’t mind laying here next to me Right now I know it hurts so much But you gotta let the wind blow You don’t have to be the only It’s not precious if it’s empty We’ll break down to beneath stone Oh we’ll let the pieces go… All the hours of wasted time, All the words that have no rhyme Oh I stumble blindly thru my bland charade Now the hours they turn to days Torturing my bleeding brain I can’t help thinking that I’ve lost my way You don’t have to be alone If you don’t mind laying here next to me Right now I know it hurts so much But you gotta let the wind blow You don’t have to be the only It’s not precious if it’s empty We’ll break down to beneath stone Oh you let the pieces go…

BRAND NEW ENEMY Do you remember? When we were kids? We made a promise to each other that we would sit, Hands clasped together, on your parents front lawn And we would watch as the planes came, and the mushroom clouds erupt And then swallow up the city and the mountains and the ocean We never thought that we would live long enough to be fathers, I’m still doubtful but I dream of it and I hope that I am wrong Broken your promise, now we got a brand new enemy We’ll find our way to go Together There was a human who created a concept That there’s good guys and there’s bad And that freedom needs protecting and that protection comes from weapons But those weapons escalate much further than the point they made And their impact would create Nothing Broken your promise, now we got a brand new enemy We’ll find our way to go Together Oh my dear friend gone away Why did you have to go?

SIGNAL FLARES The second amendment is wrapped in Teflon Cause now no bill is bulletproof Nothing but arguments on either side Nothing has changed except the sobering truth That even after twenty elementary school school kids Were murdered by a child not much older than them People cried out for policy makers to change, But nothing really happened everything stayed the same. Now it’s just pain and misplaced blame, bloodstains People trying to make names with no shame Goddammit it’s insane. And it’s happening over and over again… With an AR-15 or an AK-47 A MAC-10, Tech-9, 357 Could we change at all? Oh that would never happen No, never. Nobody has the answer, no one knows what to do I’m so sick of feeling helpless and feeling like a fool Every time another kid goes and shoots up a school Well it’s twenty four hours and it’s on to the next news Desensitized to senseless violence Nothing but deafening silence coming from both sides of this With a weapon of war you cannot miss But it ain’t our kid so we don’t do shit And it’s still pain and misplaced blame, and bloodstains People trying to make names with no shame Goddammit it’s insane. And it’s happening over and over again… With an AR-15 or an AK-47 A MAC-10, Tech-9, 357 Could we change a thing? Oh that would never happen No, never. Gritting my teeth I think,” Have we lost our minds?” While I’m looking at blurry pictures with these tears in my eyes And meanwhile some politicians out to make a fortune enforcing the agendas of their greatest endorsers. Sure enough they know what they did When they sold their conscience to the highest bid Hiding behind the party, pandering But your thoughts and your prayers don’t do a damn thing it’s still pain and misplaced blame, and bloodstains People trying to make a name, It’s so shameless. Goddammit it’s insane. And it’s happening over and over and over again… With an AR-15 or an AK-47 A MAC-10, Tech-9, 357 Could we change at all? Oh that would never happen No, never. We love our AR-15s and our AK-47s Our MAC-10s, Tech-9s, and 357s Could we change a thing? Oh that would never happen No, never.

CAPABLE PREDATOR Stop that King No keeps to raid but it ain’t no thing Can’t see when you pray without a candle You struggle or you sink To the fiend who would end all things You thought that you could bleed But you’re wrong Capable Predator I’ll be the next one to leave here you can be sure Hot edge and silent roar The man in the gray suit will beat me back to the shore Dead eyes and tidal bore I’ll be the next one, who knows? Betty didn’t like the call the widowers way But that didn’t stop her from drawing tears all from his face She got a showbox of our pockmark gaze That I didn’t remember… Opiates and Adderall in rarified space With a pretty young thing Who will do what I say So you better not function, or you’ll be like the rest of us… Heard that you’d be leaving this town but I saw you Standing outside your door Looking like you did before Capable Predator The man in the gray suit is beneath me but I can’t be sure Dead eyes and tidal bore I’ll be the next one, you know? Capable Predator I’ll be the next one to leave here You can be sure Hot edge and silent roar I’ll be the next one, you know.

NUEVO PRIMERO You didn’t love her You were just lost with nowhere to run Hoped it’d get better You couldn’t fix it She was gone before you’d begun Eschewed by another Is it wrong to know better? Isn’t it wrong to know better and run? No one wants to start over, so let’s begin Somebody told me You couldn’t find your reason why Somebody told me Your belief had died Somebody told me Whispered that you had something to hide Somebody told me But it slipped my mind… Always a rumor Maybe there’d been someone But it’s just a rumor… Something was different You would stare hours at the sun Trying to see it Groping for a loose end that you’ll never know Somebody told me You couldn’t find your reason why Somebody told me Your belief had died Somebody told me Whispered that you had something to hide Somebody told me But it slipped my mind…

MOURNING DOVE Mourning dove flies Your muppet bird You’re not tired from work Illiterate puzzle tomb, still smarts Kill heart With your poison Oh you pray to your god And you’re mystified by immortal Cheap trick from an alien fraud You aid and you bleed Like an ape with a scythe and a manger Crowded around all the radiant light I got the dorian mode and my video game Alone in my room with my mistake Only time I could remember those sterile white walls was when We went to say goodbye to my great-grandma Hospital gowns and my little brother’s crying Cause our mother tried again to take the easy way out Ten years old and the doctor said, ”Son, you’ve got to be the man of the house now” Oh you pray to your god And you’re mystified by immortal Cheap trick from an alien fraud You aid and you bleed Like an ape with a scythe and a manger Crowded around all the radiant light I still got the pentatonic scale and my video game Alone in my room with my mistake Only thing that I remember was the floral wall paper When we went to say goodbye to my great-grandmother Hospital gowns and my little brother’s crying Cause our mother tried again to take the easy way out Ten years old and the doctor said, ”Son, you’ve got to be the man of the house now” Break down I play the part
